研究领域
主要从事经济地理学及区域发展研究，特别是中国区域发展问题和经济地理学国际前沿议题的研究，后者包括经济全球化对地区发展的影响和信息技术应用的空间影响两个领域。2013年以来，一直从事“一带一路”研究，已承担相关研究项目十余个。

1988年于北京大学地理系获学士学位，1991年于中国科学院地理研究所获硕士学位，2000年于获香港大学博士学位。
工作经历
1991年4月，进入中国科学院地理研究所工作；
1996年11月至1999年10月，前往香港大学攻读博士学位；
1999年底毕业后回到中国科学院地理科学与资源研究所工作。
2004年被聘为研究员，2005年被聘为博士生导师，2012年被聘为二级研究员，2015年被聘为中国科学院特聘研究员（核心骨干）。
现任地理资源所所长特别助理、“一带一路战略研究中心主任”。

工作以来已发表学术论文230余篇。其中，SCI/SSCI/ESCI收录论文70余篇。牵头出版专著20部，包括英文3部。为国家和地方有关部门完成研究报告20余份（其中第一执笔人5份咨询报告获得党和国家领导人批示，参与10份获得党和国家领导人批示，第一执笔人2份获得中办和国办采纳）。在国际学术会议上发表论文40余篇，其中大会报告10余篇。
